GIVE A BOOK – LEARN TO READ PROGRAM

 

READING IS EXCITING WHEN THE STORY IS ABOUT YOU! 

 

The Give A Book – Learn to Read Program provides school children the benefit of receiving absolutely FREE a personalized book. 

 

My Trip To The Fire Station is a unique book because it includes the student’s name, school, teacher’s name, fire chief’s name, firefighter’s name, emergency number, and sponsor’s name (on the first page of the book). Each book is in full color and hardbound with a plastic coating. It will be a book the child will cherish forever. 

 

Many fire safety facts are included in the content of the book. 

 

• Stop, Drop. Roll

 

• Fire prevention: never play with matches and stoves. 

 

• Fire escape routes and emergency numbers. 

 

• Smoke detectors 

 

Through the support of local sponsors, the Give a Book- Learn to Read Program gives a FREE personalized book to every child in a designated class at no cost to the child, their parents, or the school. 

 

The sponsors benefit from the goodwill created with the children and their families, plus the ability to give back to the community. The book 

 

• Promotes literacy, inspires imagination, builds self-esteem

 

• Incorporates good reading skills and habits

 

• Encourages fire safety.
